The food is still good. The rest you gotta endure. I don’t think this place is what it used to be. I’m not sure if past success got to them or what. The place is not as clean as I’d like it to be. Drink machine is broke and now only serves ice. Gotta buy a can drink.
The food is freshly prepared! We ordered smothered catfish and seafood platter! The gumbo rice was so good!! The french fries that comes with the platter is on point! Catfish and shrimps were fried well! The iced tea was also nice. We are satisfied but the wait was abit longer even at 4pm! So be prepared to wait longer during lunch or dinner time! But it’s worth it!
I had the best-blackened chicken salad I ever had! We had just got off the plane and were looking for something to eat. We found Gumbo Jeaux’s. I also ordered mac and cheese it was a little too runny for me. I tasted my guy’s fish and it was good. A nice little spot to eat.

My husband and I decided to check this place out, and we’re so glad we did. I had the shrimp po’ boy—seriously one of the best I’ve ever had. My husband got the chicken sandwich and right away was like, “This is so good!” Everything tasted super fresh and full of flavor. The guys behind the counter were really nice and welcoming. When my husband’s order was taking a little longer, they gave us an update without us even asking, which we appreciated. The vibe was super chill, the food was amazing, and the place was full of people who were clearly loving it too. Easy 10/10—we’ll definitely be back.
This place is awesome. I've been coming here for years and always bring my crews every time I'm in Houston. The gumbo is amazing, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My friend's burger looked so good too. Obviously handmade, thick, and juicy. The service has always been fast and friendly as well.
Loved it so much the 1st time I had to revisit a second time. The food is quality and the service is too. Nothing beats freshly breaded shrimp or catfish. If you’re into blackened catfish you must try the Catfish Opelousas #delicious
